02

Where is the hub and how much is an appointment?

Appointments are £30 for one ear or £45 for both ears.

Every appointment includes a full ear check, assessment, and treatment where needed.

As time is set aside for your appointment, the fee applies even if little or no wax is found.

The hub is a private space within my own home, used for appointments by prior arrangement only.

Full details are provided at the time of booking.

There is free private parking available right outside, making arrival easy and stress-free.

It is also wheelchair accessible.

03

How long does an appointment take?

Appointments are never rushed. Most take around 30 - 45 minutes, depending on the amount of wax and the method used.

04

Is ear wax removal safe?

Ear wax removal is generally safe when carried out following an assessment and using appropriate methods. Your safety and comfort are always the priority, if removal is not suitable on the day, this will be explained and no treatment will proceed.

05

Do I need to prepare for my appointment?

Ear wax softening drops are often helpful and may be advised in advance to support safe and effective removal. Whether drops are recommended depends on your individual ear history and symptoms.

Some clients may be advised to use ear wax softening drops for 3 - 5 days before their appointment, while others may be advised not to use drops at all.

Please do not use ear drops if:

  • You have a known or suspected perforated (burst) eardrum

  • You have previously been advised not to use ear wax softeners

  • You have symptoms of an active ear infection, such as ear pain or discharge

  • You believe there may be a foreign body in your ear

You’ll be guided on what’s appropriate for you before and during your appointment.

06

What if the wax can't be removed?

Sometimes wax cannot be safely removed in one visit, or at all. If this happens, you’ll be advised on next steps or signposted to your local pharmacy, GP or Audiology services for further advice.

07

Is there aftercare advice?

Yes. After treatment, some clients notice an immediate change, while for others any improvement may be more gradual. This can vary depending on the amount of wax present and individual ear health.

It’s normal for your ears to feel slightly sensitive for a short time.

You may be advised to:

  • Avoid getting water in your ears for 24–48 hours

  • Avoid inserting cotton buds or other objects into your ears

  • Avoid headphones or earplugs if your ears feel sensitive

  • Use medicated olive oil drops only if advised

If you experience ongoing pain, discharge, dizziness, or sudden hearing changes, please contact your local Pharmacy, GP or Audiology services for further advice.
